I think this text would be best for kids ages 5-7. We will certainly read this book over again. The book keeps the childd attention while getting a fun opportunity to be exposed to skills needed in Kindergarten. Miss Bindergarten Plans a Circus with Kindergarten was enjoyable to read out loud. Additionally, the detail in the illustrations makes it hard to concentrate on which letter goes with which animal. Rhyms were creatively used to describe each character or their activities. An older primary student could probably roll with these challenges, but it could be confusing for a younger child. Some of the animals could be confused: I knew Adam is an alligator, but a child might say crocodile if they aren’t sure of their letter sounds (especially since it’s the first one), Jessie is a jaguar but could pass for a leopard, Lenny is a lion but could pass for a puma, and Noah is a newt but could also pass for a lizard or salamander. ![]() The letters are emphasized in the text design, but the animal types are not always clear or well known I had to look up both Quentin (probably an Australian quokka) and Ursula (a South American Uakari) and Kiki the kangaroo is almost entirely obscured by a firefighter’s coat, helmet, and mask. Each student’s name and animal type coincides with a letter of the alphabet in order. Also, the rhyming words used by the author are a great way to see if students have begun to grasp the sounds that words make and how they can be alike and different.Miss Bindergarten takes a field trip with Kindergarten is a delightful simple narrative in which Miss Bindergarten (a dog), some parent volunteers, and her students take a field trip to the bakery, the post office, the library, and the park. To celebrate, each student must bring '100 of some wonderful, one-hundred-full thing' At night, while the students go to work assembling their projects, Miss Bindergarten is working. Tomorrow she and her class will have been together for 100 days. This book is a great way to remember all the wonderful milestones and achievements in kindergarten and to point out all the growth and progress that the students have made during the year. Miss Bindergarten, the worlds best kindergarten teacher, is getting ready for another milestone. Not only do Little Learners get to hear YOU read, but you can connect it so many different standards/concepts/skills AND it can go perfectly with a theme. The activities in this set include:Week at a glance, Compare and Contrast venn diagram and writing pages, best pet writing project, writing R. Picture Books are MAGIC in the form of paper Using picture books like, Miss Bindergarten Celebrates the 100th Day of School, in the classroom is golden. This would be the perfect opportunity for the teacher to have a moving up ceremony where each student receives a medal or award for being a star in kindergarten. These are print and go activities that go along with 'Miss Bindergarten Last Day of Kindergarten' and 'Pet Show' for Kindergarten Journeys Unit 6 Lesson 30. Also, the book talks about each student being special and having a moving up ceremony. The classroom teacher could create a list as students list their many accomplishments. ![]() This book is a great way for students to reflect upon their many accomplishment and milestones in their kindergarten year. For example, the book about the beginning of the school year illustrates how the teacher sets up her classroom for the first day of school while the second book shows the same teacher taking everything down in the second book. Many students will remember activities described in Miss Bindergarten Goes to Kindergarten and how they are repeated in Miss Bindergarten Celebrates the Last Day of Kindergarten. I would begin the year with using Miss Bindergarten Goes to Kindergarten to introduce the many wonderful activities that will occur during the year and draw parallels to this book. ![]() I would use this story as my last read aloud during the end of the school year in a kindergarten class. However, the school year is over so they have to celebrate and say good bye to one another. They reminisce about all of the things they have accomplished during the year such as field trips, a classroom circus, the holidays etc. It tells the story of a teacher named Miss Bindergarten and her class and the great year they had in kindergarten. Miss Bindergarten Celebrates the Last Day of Kindergarten is a great book to read with kindergarteners on their last day of school.
